Exotic Desserts from Afar...



I'm on "safari" in NYC this week, visiting old friends and consuming vast quantities of cupcakes and culture.

We met up for dinner at Max Brenner: Chocolate By the Bald Man which smelled like chocolate heaven and had huge pipes winding through the dining area full of Wonka-esque chocolate rivers. I half expected to see the little fat German kid stuck somewhere along the route.

The food was DELICIOUS, I had a penne alfredo with chicken, served in an adorable bowl that was propped up almost like a display, quite unique. Then came dessert - we shared these two treats, the "brown heart" was a chocolate lava cake type creation and then the other plate was fresh Belgian waffles with ice cream, caramel, whipped cream, and chocolate.

YUM! And how cute are the little vials of liquid chocolate to top your own desserts?
