Musings on my (nearly) 300th post, and a GIVEAWAY!

This is my 299th post! Holy cow!

I started this blog in June, and in less than 5 months, I'm almost up to to #300. That's an average of nearly 60 posts per month, or 2 per day - in fact, I think I can count on one hand the number of days where I haven't had any updates. Huzzah! I think this is a pretty big accomplishment, I know I certainly wish all the bloggers I followed (especially the ones who support themselves solely on their blogs) would update at least that frequently. Of course, I've yet to make a penny from this endeavor and probably won't ever, but I still hold out hope I could get the sweet Intel gig MightyGirl did or support my whole family like Dooce. Or at least get free stuff to play with. :)

But if nothing else, this blog helps me keep pushing forward on my various creative endeavors, and gives me an outlet to showcase all of them. This also helps keep me sane, since my work life (where I spend most of my time) is less than exciting. So until corporate America comes begging me to create projects for Martha, or throw lavish parties with their money, or test all of their new and amazing products, I'm enjoying the blog life, and I'll plan to keep up my crafting and posting at least this often.

AND, in honor of my nearly 300th post, I'm jumping on the bandwagon and hosting a GIVEAWAY!

Now, this could be highly embarrassing if nobody decides to play along, if it turns out only my mother reads this (and she probably doesn't know how to leave a comment), but I guess I'm willing to take that chance :) So here it is: I'm celebrating this blog milestone by giving away a hand cut glass mosaic photo frame! It'll be one like these:

They hold a 4" x 4" photo and come with a peg stand, or they can hang on the wall.

To win, leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite project I've posted (or I suppose if you hate them all, tell me what I SHOULD be posting about!). Get a 2nd entry if you post a link to my blog on your own site, and leave a comment with the web address. Make sure you leave an email address so I can contact you if you're the big winner! I'll ship the prize anywhere in the continental US (sorry overseas blog stalkers, maybe next time!). And everyone is eligible - including my mom, and just so you know, she always seems to win any drawing I'm involved with. I warned you! :)

Get your entries in ASAP, I'll draw the winner on Saturday November 14th. That would have been the date of my first craft fair, but I've decided the show I had registered for wasn't the right fit for me (all vendors, I was the only crafter - so calling it a craft & gift fair was a little disingenuous) and sublet it to someone else. That gives me more time to prepare, so I was able to be lazy today - though I did have my dad & brother help me cut a bunch of boards for larger mosaics!

Thanks again for taking the time to visit my site, I hope it brings you some joy or inspiration - and spread the word on my giveaway!

My favorite project you've done so far is definitely all the projects that lead up to your Wonderland themed Halloween party. I love your blog so much and please keep up the good work!!!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love everything about yours! I love the little alice in wonderland chocolate boxes. They were too cute! Also the homer and marge simpson Halloween costume picture was great! They looked awsome! I never win giveaways though so I wont be holding my breath!

What project don't I love? I'm going to go with the peanut butter balls recipe. Maybe that's because I was lucky enough to taste them?

My favorite crafy item has been the skill at which you do your food boxes. I love to cook. But you take the decorating to a new level. I can't wait for next years party.

I might be one of you biggest fans! I check your blog 2-3 times a day!! It amazes me how creative you are. I love everything you do. A few of my favorites are your aprons you sew (I use the one your made me all the time : ) I like your choice in fabric nice and bright! I also really liked the big X-mas colored mirror mosaic. With all my friends having babies I am for sure making your baby face cookies. They were adorable! Keep up the great blogging!!

The craftest creation for me was the skeleton meat and cheese tray. I thought it was so ingenious that I showed in to all my Halloween fanatic friends and family. Even if you don't have a party and just put this out when you have company over, it makes it an instant party. I was so bummed when wal-mart didn't have the skeletons this year. One day I will do this awesome cheese tray!
Thanks Heather for the great idea. You're a very creative person.

Hey girl, as one of your best friends it is hard for me to pick just one thing that is my favorite from that amazing talent of yours - I do think however that the one that made me laugh the most was the skeleton meat and cheese tray!!! I love your blog - keep going!! (and you better bet I am going to add your page to my site :P)

Don't forget to leave your name/email so I can contact you if you win, especially if you sign in "anonymous" - which of my best friends left that last one?!?!?

okay, so there are way too many things that I love about your blog!
I liked your experiments about how to make the different food items for the halloween party. And I also liked the updates on how the decorating etc was going (for the party). And I like the mosaics.
AND I loved your hilarious commentary on the party city costumes (and actually all the costume ideas were great).
